Tips for finding a Medicare provider
Medicare has a website you can use to search for providers in your area. You can access it by clicking on this link: https://www.medicare.gov/physiciancompare/
Here are some tips for searching the Medicare website:
- Once you are on the website, type in your zip code, and in the box that says Search for a name, specialty, group, body part, or condition type “mental health” then click search.
- There are two types of clinicians that are credentialed with Medicare, psychologists and social workers. Here you can choose which you would like to include in your search, or choose both by checking the boxes.
- Once you have made your selection(s), it will bring up a search results page. On the right hand side of the results page there is a button that says Expand map – click there to get a map view of the locations. You can hover over different pins to get the name associated with the pin.
